Memento

Remember that movie about the guy who had no short term memory so he tattooed reminders to himself all over his body? You know, that guy with the blonde hair?

This has nothing to do with that.

Memento Park, formerly known as Statue Park, is in a nondescript field on the outskirts of Budapest. When communism collapsed here in 1989, the Social Realist statues that had been erected all over the city were taken down.  What to do with them?  What do do?  Smash them up and throw them in the Danube?
Nope.  Some burgeoning local capitalists decided they could put these up and charge tourists to see them.  It's working!

These statues represent the ideals of the communist Soviet empire - but with a freedom loving local population and obvious corruption in the "brother-number-one" system, they no longer have any power over the proud people of Hungary.

James knows which side of the old Soviet Lada car needs to be pushed.

Our massive rig for this tour.  Massive.  The kids ride in that back trailer.  Makes it very peaceful on the coach.
